Depart from the Julius Nyerere Int'll Dar es Salaam at Fly on Fastjet from Dar es Salaam to Mbeya. The flight departs from Dar es Salaam at 06h45 and arrives in Mbeya at 08h10. On arrival drive on to Lake Shore for 8 hours on a very good road. There will be stops for a picnic breakfast and lunch. From Mbeya to Sumbawanga (5 hours) is all a new tarmac road. Then from Sumbawanga to Lake Shore via Namanyere (3 hours) it is tarmac for the first 40km and thereaRer it is a gravel road that is being prepared for tarmac. The drive down from Namanyere to Lake Shore is really lovely as it goes through the Lwafe Game and Forest Reserve, down the escarpment to Lake Tanganyika. We arrive late afternoon and overnight ight in a Lawn Banda , half board.

We set off early (around 06h30) in our local dhow, the Lake Wanderer. En- route a packed breakfast and lunch wil be provided. That night we set up a fly camp in one of the pristine bays along the Lake and have dinner around the fire at the water's edge. There will be a boat driver, a waiter and a chef on board.

Continue up Lake Tanganyika to Mahale. Overnight on the beach fly camp, full board.

We start with an early morning chimp trek and return to camp after seeing the chimps. We spend a second night camped in Mahale on the beach, beach overnight fly camp, full board.

We have a second opportunity to see the chimps and do another morning chimp trek. Tonight is the last night camped inside Mahale National Park, overnight beach fly camp, full board.

We set off early from Mahale and start our journey to Kigoma. We fly camp in another beautiful bay, full board.

We arrive in Kigoma in the afternoon and and transfer to Lake Tanganyika Hotel and overnight on bed and breakfast.

After breakfast transfer by boat to Gombe and overnight at Hostel full. board.

Tracking the chimpanzees and overnight at Hostel full The tracking usually starts early in the morning and this can vary from half an hour to four hours depending on where the chimpanzees will be located. As you track the chimpanzees in the thick forest, you will pass through beautiful sceneries and hear thrilling sounds of birds, insects, monkeys and other inhabitants of the forest.

Return to Kigoma by boat to catch the flight for Dar es Salaam.
