The richness of its cultural heritage and the lure of the exotic spices make Zanzibar one the most sought after holiday destinations. The main attraction of Zanzibar is STONE TOWN with its winding alleys; white washed old building, bustling bazaars, mosques, exotic architecture and influences of different cultures

This tour will take you to the House of Wonders (the first house in E. Africa to have an escalator, and electricity), Sultans Palace, Old Dispensary, The former slave market, the local vegetable and fruit market with a variety of mouth-watering tropical seasonal fruits. Exotic spices are cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, turmeric and nutmeg - are as exotic as the flavour. You will also have a chance to see the iodine plant, henna bush, ylang-ylang, lipstick tree, cocoa and coffee trees. The Kidichi Persian Baths was built in 1850 by Seyyid Said bin Sultan for his Persian wife Princess Sheherezade granddaughter of the Shah of Persia, you will also visit the Maruhubi Palace Ruins built by the third Sultan of Zanzibar Seyyid Barghash for his 99 concubines

    PRISOLAND AND NAKUPENDA ISLAND:

Also known as Changu Island, Koibandiko, or Quarantine Island, It was used as a penitentiary for rebel slaves by the sultans from the 1860s until the end of the slave trade. After which the British began building a prison on the island under the guidance of First Governor, Lloyd Matthews and completed in 1894. However, the ‘prison’ was only ever used as a quarantine centre for possible yellow-fever victims, and even then it was hardly used as that. One can take the footpath through the woodland, spotting birds, bats, various butterflies and duiker antelope (so long as you tread quietly). The Aldabra Giant Tortoise sanctuary is a major tourist lure. The giant land tortoises are not indigenous but were imported from Seychelles in the late 19th century. It is fringed with a beautiful coral reef, ideal for snorkeling, and has a lovely white beach for sunbathing. Overnight at Hotel.
