Katavi National Park is a Tanzanian national park created in 1974 and is located in Katavi Region, Tanzania. It is a very remote park that is less frequently visited than other Tanzanian national parks. The park is approximately 4,471 square kilometers (1,726 sq mi) in area,[2] which makes it the forth largest national park in Tanzania. The park encompasses the Katuma River and the seasonal Lake Katavi and Lake Chada floodplains.

The tracking usually starts early in the morning and this can vary from half
an hour to four hours depending on where the chimpanzees will be located. As you track the chimpanzees in the thick forest, you will pass through beautiful sceneries and hear thrilling sounds of birds, insects, monkeys and other inhabitants of the forest. Overnight at the Tented Camp, full board.
The Mahale Mountains National Park was gazetted in 1985, covers an area of 1 613 km², world famous for Chimpanzees, stretches out to reach the shores of Lake Tanganyika. There are no roads in the park; all the trails are walking routes. Numerous pathways and tracks allow visitors to enjoy fabulous forest walks, with varied wildlife encounters. The paths are used by warthog and bush pig, and elephant, buffalo, yellow baboons and monkeys favour the northern regions. Chimp trails can be tracked through the forest.
